The designated hospital wing of Aranui caters for 23 clients. It is designed for those residents who need help with all aspects of daily living - eating, mobility and toileting.

A registered nurse is on-site 24 hours a day. The registered nurse is supported by Enrolled Nurses and a team of well trained caregivers.

High staff-resident ratios and a call-bell system in every room ensure that no resident is without help at any time.

The hospital has its own lounge / dining room.

Aranui is well equipped with specific equipment to care for indvidual needs

The activity programme for hospital residents differs from that offered to rest home or dementia clients. It is more sensory-based and designed for those who are less mobile.

DOCTORS VISIT

Our Doctor is Dr Adriaan Venter, who has been working with our Facility since 2002. He visits on Wednesday mornings and early Friday afternoons, he is also on call 24/7. All residents are seen after admission and then as needed. Hospital residents have a medical review monthly, with Rest Home residents being reviewed 3 monthly.

PHARMACY

The Facility pharmacy is Unichem and all medication are robotically packed which leads to greater accuracy and less likely hood of a medication error occurring.

PHYSIOTHERAPY

The Facility Physiotherapist completes an assessment on all new Hospital Residents then sets an exercise programme to meet their needs which is then completed daily by the Care Givers with oversight from the RN’s. Residents have morning exercises as a group in the main lounge and then individual walking and exercise programmes are completed by morning and afternoon staff.
